(Picture file Basics: Pictures are obtained in the digital file form from either directly from a digital camera or by scanning an ordinary photograph. There are a variety of picture file format including .bmp, .gif, .png, .jpg, .tif etc. For the use of internet, a file format with a low file size without much loss in clarity is preferred. jpg format is ideal. Else it will affect the upload and download speeds. When scanning a photo, a resolution of 75 dpi may be used. Save the file as .jpg. The file size will be around 100 kb. For better clarity, scan at a higher resolution, then using any image editing software, you can resize as appropriate. View the picture at 100% zoom. It should not be much bigger than the screen size. Even if file aize is big, it is ok, the photo will be edited before adding to the site)
