Everything changes as time passes. Our website had a humble start and has been constantly updated. The aim of this site is to serve as portal of communication among the batchmates and to keep an up-to-date database of what everyone of us is up to. One of the key issues we face now is the security risk of any personal data in the public domain of internet, including date of birth, address, email id etc. That is why we are stepping forward by trying to store all the personal data in a password protected area, which basically is our discussion board. So the discussion board forms the heart of our website. It may take a while to set up things completely as everyone among us has to spend a little time. It may also make things slightly more complicated as you need to log in to view any user data.
How it works:
1. Registration: If you already haven't registered with a username and password, you need to do so at the earliest. Please use your first name as the user id. For those friends who have similar first names, I suggest adding part of the surname also to avoid confusion. Please, please remember the password; the only way to remember is to visit the site frequently. If you forget the password, the administrator can easily reset it. Nobody including the administrator can retrieve your old password. So you may use the same password as you use for emails etc. But if anybody happens to forget the password, please don't signup again with another username, but just ask to reset the password.
At the time of registration, register the email id which you commonly use. You can send emails to any registered batchmates directly from our site. There are some personal details also to fill in including your present work. This will be available only to the registered batchmates after logging in.
Once registered, it may take a day or so for it to be active.
2. Posting messages: There are few message boards already existing. I suggest you log in to view them as it will show which all are new posts since your last visit. If you need to post any message or reply to any message, you have to log in. After logging in wait few seconds to go to the appropriate page. You will be able to edit your own posts anytime later. You will be able to attach files including pictures below 150kb size.
3. Browsing personal information of batchmates: When you have logged in you will be able to see a members list. Clicking on the appropriate name will show any detail they have provided. After a while the plan is to remove all the personal information from the existing page for that.
