I have come across a family in UK(from)kerala where their younger son is suffering from some skin condition, which they are literally struggling to cop with. Condition very simple just dryness, but the intensity is too much. There are using moisturizer every 2 hrs. Some one has suggested silk is good, so they have changed to silk clothes recently. They haven`t a working diagnosis.

Where are they from in Kerala? Obviously they would want to know about someone local to them, right?
Have they seen any dermatologists here? Privately. It may not be as expensive as you would think.

Dr Faizal in AIMS has quite a reputation. He mainly specializes on allergy, but he has a knack for making unusual diagnosis. He is the best in AIMS at least.
